Overview
KAZI is an experimental fashion film exploring themes of identity, movement and artistic expression through a visual language that blends fashion, performance and cinematic storytelling.
The film was created as a conceptual piece designed to push beyond traditional fashion imagery, using abstraction and movement to create a more emotional and immersive viewing experience.
The project was recognised internationally, winning Best Experimental Film at the Berlin Fashion Film Festival.
The Challenge
Fashion films often focus purely on product or aesthetic imagery. The challenge with KAZI was to create a piece that felt more like a visual experience than a traditional fashion film, using movement, texture and atmosphere to communicate a deeper narrative. The goal was to produce something artistically bold and visually distinctive, capable of standing out within the fashion film landscape.
The Creative Idea
The concept centred around movement as storytelling. Rather than presenting fashion in a static way, the film used choreography, rhythm and experimental visual techniques to create a sense of fluidity and transformation. The narrative was intentionally abstract, allowing the audience to interpret the imagery emotionally rather than through a linear storyline.
Impact
KAZI was recognised internationally at the Berlin Fashion Film Festival, winning Best Experimental Film and gaining recognition for its creative approach to fashion storytelling.
